This was a very exciting time for Freddy Fresh as he had just come off his high of having released a Top 40 hit in England with Badder Badder Schwing and Big Beat music was the thing and it was MASSIVE. But as quickly as it rose to the top was as quick as the genre was given the death blow!! So Freddy decided rather than go with what was trendy that he would not only stay true to the genre but actually start a record label dedicated to the entire genre. Howlin' records was born in the yer 2000 and what most of the former Big Beat producers in the UK were starting to abandon, Freddy was capitalizing on. As the genre grew into the eastern European countries and with only a handful of UK producers continuing to make Big Beat , we filled a well needed niche in the Big Beat market, keeping the genre well and alive to this very day; long after the genre was supposed to have "died"...
